Relay’s app for Slack serves two primary purposes:
Unlocking Relay for Slack automations.
Sending Relay for Slack notifications.
Relay sends notifications for all sorts of things, some examples:
By default, these come through email. But once you connect your Slack account to Relay, they’ll come to you via Relay app for Slack instead.

Once you click on “Connect”, you’ll see a standard Slack permissions screen asking you to approve access. These permissions are ultimately necessary to offer the above functionality.
