Use variables to personalize task instructions and make them extra relevant.
When you add instructions to a task, they’re sent to the assignee in email and Slack notifications. The more detailed you are, the more helpful these instructions will be in providing the context the assignee needs to do the task.
You can make these instructions feel personal and contextual automatically by using variables. Try using variables to reference the first name of the assignee, a newly copied document, or the target due date.
Click the “Notify” chip on any task and use the controls to fine tune notifications.
Relay notifies assignees when a task is ready to start, when it’s due soon, and twice after it’s overdue. But what if your assignee just might need a few more reminders?
That’s easy–just add and edit notifications from the task dialog. If you also want to keep the owner of the run in the loop about the tasks’s status, you can add notifications for them, too.
Using variables in run names give each run a unique title that helps you easily identify which run is which on your dashboard.
When you’re admiring your playbook dashboard, it’s helpful to see clear, unique names for every run so you can easily tell which run is which.
You can edit how runs are named by updating the run title template in the “Data” tab. Use variables to automatically add unique identifiers to each run. With variables, you can give runs the name of a customer, new hire, meeting, date, or whatever is relevant to your playbook.
